Why planning never sticks

Most meal plans die by Wednesday

You start the week with good intentions and a full fridge. Then a late meeting, a soccer practice, and a tired evening happen, and the plan is quietly abandoned. It is not a willpower problem. Most plans were never built to bend.

Wed

The week goes sideways

The plan assumed a calm week. Real weeks have late nights and last-minute changes, and a rigid plan cannot follow you into them.

~1/3

Food bought, then binned

A big share of household food gets thrown away. Half a bunch of cilantro, the second pepper, the bag you bought for one recipe and never opened.

×5

The same five meals

Decision fatigue wins and you cook the same short rotation, while the grocery bill quietly creeps up week after week with nothing to show for it.

A plan that bends

Change the week, not the whole plan

Real life does not run on one setting. So when the week shifts, you tell Yemmi how, and it rebuilds the week and the grocery list around it in about a second, still inside your budget.

Busy week

Short cook times and fewer moving parts. Meals you can get on the table after a long day without a second thought.

Travel

Fewer cooking nights, less fresh food to spoil while you are gone, and a lighter list so nothing rots in the fridge.

Tight budget

Cheaper staples and more overlap between meals, re-planned to land under a lower number without turning bland.

Cooking burnout

Cook once, eat several times. Batch-friendly meals that reheat well, so a few evenings ask nothing of you at all.

The grocery list

A list that actually adds up

The plan is only half the promise. Yemmi turns the whole week into one grocery list, de-duplicated so the onion in three meals shows up once, with plain human amounts and a running total against your budget.

De-duplicated, not doubled

Ingredients that repeat across meals get combined into one line with the total amount, so you never buy three half-used bunches of the same herb.

Human quantity hints

Not "0.375 kg." A small bag, about two cups, one medium. Amounts you can actually pick off a shelf without a scale.

Totaled against your budget

The list carries a running total. Set the number you want to spend and Yemmi shows the estimate as it builds the week.

Under or over, shown honestly

If the week runs over, Yemmi says so plainly instead of hiding it, and you can re-plan on a tighter budget in one tap.

A stepper sets the household size, and every quantity and total scales to match.

Budget totals are estimates that vary by store and region, shown so you can decide before the register.

It is still graded for you

Every meal in the plan is graded for your body

A budget plan is only worth cooking if it is also good for you. So every meal Yemmi plans carries the same A-to-F grade the scanner gives, tuned to your goals, your allergens, and the foods you avoid. Do not like one? Swap it for a better fit and the rest of the week stays put.

Tuesday, as planned

Hits your protein goal, nothing you avoid, and it fits the budget. Keep it.

C
Not feeling it?

Swap it in one tap for a better meal that fits the same slot, your budget, and your body.

People who keep a simple record of what they eat tend to lose about twice as much (Burke et al., 2011). A plan you actually follow is the record that writes itself.

Common questions

Before you plan the week

Can Yemmi keep my week under my grocery budget?

Yes. You set a weekly budget and Yemmi plans against it, then totals the de-duplicated grocery list and shows you honestly whether you are under or over. If it runs over, you can re-plan on a tighter budget and it rebuilds the week in about a second.

What if my week changes partway through?

That is the whole point. Switch the week to a busy week, travel, a tight budget, or cooking burnout, and Yemmi regenerates the plan and the grocery list around the new reality. You can also swap a single meal without redoing the rest.

Does Yemmi handle a family or household size?

Yes. A stepper sets how many people you are feeding, from one to six, and the grocery quantities and totals scale to match. Yemmi also respects the allergens and foods you avoid across the profile you set up.

Can I swap a meal I do not like?

Yes. Every meal in the plan is graded for your body, and you can swap any one you do not want for a better option that fits the same slot, your budget, and your goals. The rest of the week stays as it is.

Is the grocery list actually usable in the store?

Yes. The list is de-duplicated, so the same onion used in three meals shows up once with a combined amount. Quantities come with plain human hints like a small bag or about two cups, and the whole list is totaled so you know the number before the register.
